How to Add a Custom Font in Showit (No Coding Needed!)

October 10, 2025

One of the easiest ways to upgrade your website design is by using custom fonts. Fonts are more than just text they set the mood of your brand and make your site stand out from the sea of generic templates.

Recently, someone reached out to me saying:

“Hi Kristina, I hope you’re well. I’m looking for somebody to help me add a custom font to my Showit website. I understand it’s relatively quick, but I’m just not skilled in adding the code and find it a bit confusing.”

Here’s the good news: you don’t need coding skills at all to add a custom font to your Showit website. In fact, it takes just a few minutes. Let’s walk through the process step by step.

Step 1: Prepare Your Font Files

Showit only accepts fonts in WOFF format. If your font isn’t already in this format, don’t worry. You can easily convert it.

  1. Head over to Font Squirrel’s Webfont Generator.
  2. Upload your font file (make sure you legally own or have permission to use it).
  3. Check the agreement box.
  4. Download your converted webfont kit.

Step 2: Upload Your Font to Showit

Once your font is ready, log in to your Showit app:

  1. Go to Media Library.
  2. Create a new folder (optional, but it keeps things organized).
  3. Upload your .woff font file into this folder.

Now your font is stored in Showit and ready to be used.

Step 3: Add Your Font in Design Settings

Next, connect your uploaded font to your site:

  1. Go to Design Settings in Showit.
  2. Click the Fonts tab.
  3. Choose Add Custom Font.
  4. Select the uploaded .woff font from your Media Library.
  5. Rename it if you’d like, then click Save.

Congratulations—you’ve successfully added your custom font! 🎉

Step 4: Apply the Font to Your Website

To actually use your new font:

  1. Stay in Design SettingsFonts.
  2. Update your site’s typography styles (Headings, Paragraphs, Buttons, etc.) with your new custom font.
  3. Save and publish changes.

Now your entire website will reflect your custom branding.

Bonus: Adding Google Fonts

If you want to use a Google Font, the process is even simpler:

  1. In the Fonts tab, select Add Google Font.
  2. Search for your font (for example: Playfair Display, Open Sans, etc.).
  3. Add it to your site with one click.

No conversions or uploads needed!

Final Thoughts

That’s it. You’ve just added a custom font to your Showit website in under 10 minutes. No coding, no confusion, just a clean and simple process.

Using unique typography is a small detail that makes a big difference in how professional and branded your website looks. Whether you’re a creative, marketing agency, or small business owner, custom fonts help set you apart.
